An Amazon delivery boy in Delhi has been arrested for duping a customer while delivering a mobile phone purchased on the e-commerce site. Instead of delivering the mobile phone, the delivery boy said the order has been canceled and kept it with him. The mobile phone was later recovered by police from another man to whom the accused had sold the phone in return for cash. On Monday 19th October, Delhi Police received a complaint against a delivery boy who works for Amazon. The complainant alleged that a delivery boy came to his house at Kidwai Nagar on 1st October to deliver a mobile phone he had ordered from Amazon. The delivery boy told the customer that his order has been canceled and he will receive a refund soon. The customer checked this on the Amazon site; it said the mobile phone was delivered to the customer.

When the complainant contacted Amazon seeking a refund of the amount, the company told him that in their inquiry they found that the phone has already been delivered to him. An FIR was registered and a police team raided the delivery boy’s house who has been identified as Manoj. Manoj was arrested. The mobile phone was recovered from Dharamvir to whom he had sold the phone. Manoj said that he was in need of the money, which led him to commit the fraud.
