Ring of Fire Solar Eclipse in India

The first 'Ring of Fire' solar eclipse of the year 2020 will occur today on 21st June.

The solar eclipse occurs when the moon gets between Earth and the sun, and the moon casts a shadow over Earth. In Hindi, Solar Eclipse is also known as Surya Grahan. The first solar eclipse of the year 2020 will fall on June 21. The Moon will cover the Sun from the centre leaving the outer rim visible, thus creating a ring of fire. The annular solar eclipse of June 2020 will start at 9:15 am on June 21 as per Indian Standard Timing (IST). The full eclipse will start from 10:17 am with the maximum eclipse occurring at 12:10 pm. The eclipse will end at 3:04 pm. The eclipse will be visible from Asia, Africa and parts of Europe and Australia. In 2020, there will be only 2 Solar eclipses. The first will take place today on 21st June and the second will be on 14th December.
