Diwali is over. But the guilt of eating kaju katli, ladoo and all of your favourite mithais is not. You need to get back to your regular diet and workout routine at the earliest. Here 5 ways to lose weight post Diwali!
Increase protein intake
Protein is important for weight loss. Including protein in the diet can help you build muscles. Protein rich foods like eggs, chicken, beans, lentils are also filling. They can reduce appetite and total calorie intake, thus helping in weight loss.
Do meal preparing
Planning your meals in advance is time-saving. Make a plan that has eating in small and frequent meals. It helps you feel satiated at all times and can also prevent overeating and unnecessary cravings.
Drink sufficient water
Drinking enough water can help you feel less tired and fatigued. It can hydrate you, restore good digestion and also reduce headaches which you may be getting because of lack of sleep.
Detox does not mean starving yourself or cutting off food like rice, bread, oil, ghee, etc. The best way to feel healthy and lose weight after the festivities are over, is by making your diet diverse. Eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, lentils and legumes, nuts and seeds.
Catch up on your sleep:
Lack of sleep can spoil your health in many ways. So after the festivities are over, do catch up on your sleep. Have a cup of turmeric milk with some cinnamon, dried ginger powder and some jaggery, at bedtime. It will boost your immunity and will also induce sleep.
Remember that post-Diwali detox does not mean that you only eat low-fat salads and juices. Post Diwali detox is about restoring good health and losing weight in a way which is possible.
