3 Minor Girls Gangraped in Assam
Durga puja festival three minor girls were gang-raped by three persons known to them in Assam’s Goalpara district.
On Wednesday 28th October the police informed that during the Durga puja festival three minor girls were raped by three persons in Assam’s Goalpara district. Goalpara Superintendent of Police Sushanta Biswa Sarma said that on the night of 22nd October three men who knew the three minor girls brought the girls from their homes to show them different Durga puja pandals. They then raped them at Rongjuli High School playground. They had also video recorded the act on their mobile phones. He added, “The police received a complaint on 27th October and registered a case at Rongjuli police station under various sections of the IPC and POCSO Act.”
The police arrested two of the accused on Tuesday 27th October, and the third one was nabbed on Wednesday 28th October. A source said the girls were intoxicated with drinks after which they were raped. They also blackmailed them with a video recording they made. The police officer said that investigation is on to ascertain the claim that the culprits had recorded the act on their mobile phones.
