The India Vs England match was held yesterday on 30th June 2019 was a very big disappointment. After a successful winning streak, India lost to England by 31 runs.

The India Vs England match was held yesterday on 30th July 2019. England had lost their last two matches. They needed to win this match so they could qualify for the semi-finals. India were the only undefeated team in the World Cup. England won the toss and chose to bat, the right decision with Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow having an opening stand of 160 runs, Bairstow got 111 runs and Roy scored 66 runs. Ben Stokes came in the end and scored a quick 79 to get England to a high score of 337. England scored 337-7 in 50 overs.

India’s bowling could not keep up with the batting not being able to contain the runs in the beginning. Yuzvendra Chahal, Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav all going for heavy runs and only getting one wicket between the 3 of them.

The hero in India’s bowling was Mohammed Shami. He took 5-69. Jasprit Bumrah got another one late on and so did Kuldeep Yadav. He only gave 44 runs in his 10 overs helping to keep the score from reaching 350.

When India came in to bat they were already on the back foot having to chase such a high score. KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma were the opening batsmen. KL Rahul was out for 0 runs in the first few overs. After which Virat Kohli and Sharma both played well. Kohli got to 66 runs before being caught out. Rohit Sharma scored 102 runs giving India hope that there was a chance of winning.

But after Rohit’s wicket things started to crumble with India’s middle-order again not being able to perform only getting 30-40 runs a slow pace. With 10 overs left India needed 102 runs. Dhoni and Pandya were on the field and it felt like we could win.  Once Pandya lost his wicket Dhoni could not keep up and the team slowed down. His singles and dot balls were not enough. The only 6 scored in the match was by Dhoni in the last over. India scored 306-5 in 50 overs. They lost by 31 runs.

India has not qualified for the Semi-Finals yet. They need to win one of the next two matches to qualify for the finals.
