World Cup 2019: England vs Australia

England beat Australia and has now qualified to the finals to compete with New Zealand.

Host England is now into the finals of the World Cup after thrashing Australia, winning by 8 wickets in only 32.1 overs. Australia won the toss and chose to bat. However, they played very badly and scored 14-3 in just 7 overs.Only Steve Smith scored 85, helping Australia scored a total of 223 all out for 49 overs. 

The England bowlers Chris Woakes and Adil Rashid both took 3 wickets each with Jofra Archer getting 2 wickets. With England only losing two wickets in the match. Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow opened with a partnership of 124 runs. Roy scored 85 runs from 65 balls, with Bairstow scoring 34 runs, and Joe Root and Eoin Morgan scoring 49 and 45 respectively. England finished off the game by scoring 226-2 in 32.1 overs. This means that England will play New Zealand who beat India in the Finals at Lords on Sunday 14th July 2019. England has never won the finals in the world cup. They last played the finals in 1992.

Australia who has won 5 World Cups which is the record has never lost in a semi-final or Finals they have been in before yesterday. England and New Zealand have never won the World Cup before. So after a very long time, we will have a new champion.
