Woman Falls & Dies From Dombivli Local Train

Charmi Pasad, a 22-year-old girl from Mumbai died after falling off a Dombivli local train.

Charmi Pasad, a sales executive in a private firm, she was 22 years old. Yesterday on 16th December, she boarded a train from Dombivli to CSMT during rush hour. However since the train was very crowded, she could not fully enter the train. This is why she fell off the train right before the train reached [Box 03 Kopar station. When the train reached Kopar station, people informed the Government Railway Police (GRP) and they rushed to help her. She was taken to Shastri Nagar hospital, but died during treatment. 

This is the fourth time someone has died by falling between the Dombivli and Kopar railway station. Prasad’s family blamed the Central Railway for the death of their daughter. The family has said that many passengers block the entrance of the train making it difficult for people to enter. They said strict action must be taken against such people.The family has said that the CR must increase the number of train services. 

The Central Railway said that most of the 3.5 lakh people travel from Dombivli everyday to Mumbai to their offices. There are many new housing projects that are starting In dombivli and people are moving there as Mumbai has become too expensive.CR Authorities have said that a 15-coach special train was started from Dombivli to CSMT.Activists say that the CR must complete construction of extra railway lines so that the frequency of the trains increase and there is less crowd.
