Violence In Sudan As Military Takes Control
Violence in Sudan as Military take control of Capital and the country, they have ousted the former President.
The head of the Sudan military, Lt. Gen. Adbel Fattah al - Burhan has taken charge of the Sudan government after removing longtime President Omar al-Bashir.
A peaceful protest being held in Sudan’s capital Khartoum. Protestors demanded to remove military rule and make way for a civilian rule. They demanded a democratic government. The protestors had said that nobody would attend work, till the military stepped down.
At the protests the Rapid Support Forces(RSF), who are an elite section of the military attacked the crowd with no notice and killed around 60 people, but a few days later another 40 bodies were found in the river Nile that were dumped by the RSF bringing the total death count to 100 and nearly 700 injured.
This is according to the Central Committee of Sudan Doctors (CCSD) have also received nearly 70 cases of rape in the hospitals in Khartoum. Many victims have not sought treatment out of fear, because healthcare is limited or their surroundings are dangerous. al-Burhan has said that there will be a full investigation into the deaths and all those who were responsible will be brought to justice.
