UP Cop Demands Sex from Rape Survivor: Gets Suspended

A 25-year-old rape survivor in Aligarh accused a constable of demanding sexual favours in exchange for justice, leading to his suspension and a case under the BNS.

In a disturbing case of systemic abuse, a 25-year-old rape survivor in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, was targeted by the very officer assigned to her case. Constable Imran Khan, stationed at the Quarsi police station, has been suspended and booked after attempting to exploit the victim’s search for justice.

The survivor had originally filed a complaint in early March 2026 against a man who raped her under the false pretext of marriage. After she registered her grievance on the state’s IGRS portal, Constable Khan contacted her, but soon shifted from investigating to harassment.

Khan pressured the woman for sexual favors and "sexy photos" in exchange for progressing her rape case or providing clothes for Eid. He used religious manipulation and threatened to stall her original case—or even jail her—if she reported his behavior

Demonstrating immense courage, the survivor recorded their phone conversations and presented them to senior officials. Upon reviewing the evidence, Senior Superintendent of Police Neeraj Kumar Jadaun ordered Khan’s immediate suspension around March 18. Khan has been booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for sexual harassment and criminal intimidation.

The recordings went viral on social media by March 21, 2026, sparking public outrage. The investigation is ongoing to ensure both the original rape case and the constable’s misconduct are strictly prosecuted.
