In a first of its kind project, environmentalist from Chennai launches a new “Tree Ambulance” service.

Since the pollution levels in the world are very high, and the green cover is quickly reducing due to building of new industries, it is important that the forests and greenery are taken care of and are protected.Dr Abdul Ghani is known as the “Green man of India”. He has launched a tree ambulance service to provide first aid treatment to trees. This project is very unique, and not common. This concept of tree ambulance, aims to spread a positive feeling towards the environment. They do this by caring specially for trees. The tree ambulance tries to save trees by caring for sick ones, and helping to regrow any tree which has been uprooted.

This tree ambulance will provide a seed bank. A seedbank is a collection of stored seeds.

Apart from this, they will also conduct surveys of trees, distribute plants, and shift trees in case they are going to be cut. Currently, Dr. Ghani has launched this service in Chennai. He said that soon the ambulance will start its travel across Tamil Nadu and around the country as well. They aim to reach New Delhi in two months. He plans to expand this project to a National scale by 2020. They will also stop at schools and colleges to educate the students on protecting forests.

Recently,NASA completed a study. They said that India and China are contributing greatly to make the planet greener. Yet, considering that India is constantly losing its green cover due to rapid industrial growth, it is necessary that efforts are taken to conserve nature.
