Tata Nano Likely to Be Discontinued in 2020

Tata Nano, the cheapest car in the world may be discontinued from 2020.

“Bharat Stage Emission Standards”, are rules created by the Indian Government to control pollution in the country. These are rules which have to followed by all the automobile companies.

From 2020, the Indian government are introducing stricter rules. All automobile companies will have to spend more money to make sure their vehicles are eco-friendly with advanced technology.

Mayank Pareek President of Passenger Vehicles at Tata Motors said that, the company may stop manufacturing Tata Nano. They are not interested in upgrading the Tata Nano to new technology.

The Tata Nano was launched 10 years ago. It was for just for Rs 1 lakh. It was the cheapest car in the world. The Nano was unsuccessful in the market. There were many cases of engine explosions and failed crash tests, because of which they did not sell many cars.

This decision is not confirmed yet.
