A woman from South Africa has reportedly given birth to 10 babies at once, breaking the Guinness World Record held by Malian Halima Cisse.

It is reported that a woman from South Africa has given birth to 10 babies at once. Gosiame Thamara Sithole is 37 year old from South Africa. She gave birth on Monday 7th June night, Ms Sithole and her family were surprised to see 10 babies emerge . Doctors had checked that she will have 8 babies. Her husband, Teboho Tsotetsi said, "It's seven boys and three girls. She was seven months and seven days pregnant. I am happy." Ms Sithole said that her pregnancy was natural and she did not undergo any fertility treatments. She already has six-year-old twins. In a last month interview she said, "I am shocked by my pregnancy. I was convinced that if it was more, it would be twins or triplets, not more than that.

She said that she had sleepless nights worrying about her unborn children. "How would they fit in the womb? Would they survive? What if they came out conjoined at the head? The doctor assured me that my womb was starting to expand inside.” A spokesperson for Guinness World Records said, "Guinness World Records is aware of the news that Gosiame has given birth to decuplets. We congratulate her. Our records team with a specialist consultant are looking into this. Currently, the wellbeing of both the mother and babies is of top priority." Currently the Guinness World Record for many babies born at the same time is held by Halima Cisse from Mali.  She had given birth to nine children in Morocco last month. If confirmed by Guiness World Record, Gosiame  will break the record and she will be first to have 10-child (decuplets) delivery.
