Russia Banned from the Olympics For 4 Years
WADA has imposed a 4 year ban on Russia from participating in the Olympics. Watch the video for all the details.
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is an organization that keeps a check on different athletes participating in the Olympics. They check if the athletes have taken any drugs to make them stronger. WADA had asked Russia to provide urine and Blood samples of athletes for testing. But Russia tried to tamper evidence. WADA President Craig Reedie said that Russia was given a chance to be honest but they kept lying.Russian athletes are famous for taking medicines to make them stronger.
This is why WADA has imposed a 4 year ban on Russia from participating in International sporting events. Russia will not be allowed to participate in the Tokyo Olympics as well. This decision was taken by WADA's executive committee in Switzerland.This means that Russia’s Flag, Name and National ANthem will not appear in the Tokyo Olympics.Russia may not be allowed to host any world championship tournaments.
Such severe punishments have never been given to any country. In 2016, also Russian running athletes were not allowed to participate in the Rio Games because they were caught doping.
