Rs 10,000 Fine is PAN Aadhar Not Linked

Failure of linking of the PAN Card with the Aadhaar Card after March 31, 2020, will lead to a fine of Rs 10,000.

The government has given a deadline of March 31, 2020, for linking of the PAN Card with the Aadhaar Card.

If your PAN Card or Permanent Account Number Card is not linked to your Aadhaar Card, it may lead to a penalty of Rs 10,000. The Income Tax Department has already announced that the Permanent Account Number, if not linked with Aadhaar, will become inoperative. 

What will happen if your PAN becomes inoperative? 

An individual may not be able to open a bank account or sell/buy a property, make investments without PAN.
