Rs 1,000 Cr Worth Drugs Seized from a Car in Mumbai

Mumbai Police seize Rs 1,000 Cr worth of drugs from Vakola.

In Mumbai, the Azad Maidan anti-narcotic cell (ANC) seized a drug called Fentanyl which was worth Rs 1,000 Cr. This was a big drug peddling racket, which the Mumbai Police busted. The Police arrested 4 persons.

The police laid a trap for the peddlers at Vakola. They arrested the 4 men and seized a brand new car in which they found the drugs. The police found 4 boxes of drugs, each boxed weighed 4 kgs.

These men were booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The drug samples were sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory in Kalina.

Fentanyl is a medicine which can also be used a pain killer, especially for cancer patients. Some people mix it with heroin or cocaine and use it as a drug. This Drug is used a lot in the United States. Every year thousands of people die by overdosing on fentanyl.

The police said that they heard that some people were going to export a large quantity of fentanyl. They were going to send it to America through a foreigner because there is a big demand for this drug in America.
