Rajasthan: 2 Men Arrested For Raping a Deaf Girl

Rajasthan Police on 11th December, arrested two persons in connection with the alleged gang-rape of a Deaf woman in Rajasthan's Barmer district.

Rajasthan Police on 11th December 2022 arrested two persons in connection with the alleged gang-rape of a Deaf woman in Rajasthan's Barmer district. On 24th November 2022, a 20-year-old Deaf Dalit girl from Dhorimanna town in the Barmer district of Rajasthan Had gone out to graze her goats. Meanwhile, two to four youths came in a Bolero and raped her. They fled after seeing the villagers. She was shifted to the hospital immediately.

The family then registered the case at a police station the same day and soon the investigation was conducted to arrest the accused persons. Also, the police reached the spot and started inquiring with the people around. According to the Barmer Superintendent of Police, Deepak Bhargava, "After 17 days of the probe, two men Sunil Vishnoi and Bhajan Lal Bishnoi were arrested." The SP further said that it was a big challenge for the police to name the unknown accused as the woman is Deaf. He added, "We identified the accused after a woman explained to us through sign language and some inputs she gave in writing. We had identified around 15 in the matter and then arrested these two. We interrogated them, and they accepted the crime. Further investigation is underway.
