Pregnant Woman Shot For Complaining Against Loud Music

A 30-year-old pregnant woman was allegedly shot at by her neighbour in Delhi's Samaypur Badli area for objecting to loud music during a function.

In shocking news coming from Delhi the national capital of India, a pregnant woman was shot at following an argument over playing loud music by a DJ. Yes, she was shot in the neck for arguing with the DJ! How shocking! The incident occured in Delhi's Samaypur Badli area on 3rd April 2023. The woman’s name was Ranju and she was 30 years old.  She had 3 children and who was eight months pregnant. The woman's husband works as a labourer. The family hailed from Bihar and lived in a rented accommodation in Delhi. The police said, "A Police Control Room (PCR) call was received at around 00:15 AM on April 3 at Samaypur Badli Police Station informing that a woman had been allegedly shot by her neighbour when she asked him to stop the DJ." Upon receiving the information over call, the police reached the spot and found that the injured lady was already shifted to Max Hospital, Shalimar Bagh Delhi. The crime scene was inspected by the crime team. Due to the gunshot, the woman suffered a miscarriage. 

Later, the police also recorded the statement of an eyewitness, who is the sister-in-law of the injured.  

In her statement the woman said, "Harish lives across the street in the same colony at Samaypur Badli area. On April 2, there was puja for Harish's son in which a DJ was playing. Hearing a loud noise my sister-in-law Ranju and I came to the balcony and asked Harish to stop the DJ. After this, a bullet hit her which was fired by Harish who took the gun from his friend Amit." Harish was caught from the spot and handed over to the police. His interrogation allegedly revealed that he procured the gun from his friend, Amit who runs a medical store. Amit too was subsequently arrested. The police said, "On the basis of the statement of the victim's sister-in-law, a case under section 307 & 34 Indian Penal Code and Section 27 Arms Act was registered against the accused involved. Both Harish and Amit have been apprehended.” Due to her serious injuries she passed away Sunday 9th April 2023. Further investigation into the matter is underway. The police have asked people to be very careful while confronting miscreants. They have asked citizens to call and place the complaint and let the police handle the situation.
