PM Modi & Vidisha Maitri Make an Impact at UNGA

Pm Modi’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly elevated India’s standing in the world. Vidisha Maitri’s reply to Pakistan PM Imran Khan’s speech and stunned the whole world.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Friday 27th September 2019. This was the second time he gave such a speech. During his speech, he spoke about protecting the climate, fighting terrorism, maintaining global peace and his government's efforts at helping the poor. He said that India will very soon completely ban plastic. PM Narendra Modi said that 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas' This means that India can only develop with the help and trust of all Indian citizens. He said that his government's main aim is to include people of all religions so that India is stronger.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made India’s position higher in the world. Hundreds Indian gathered outside the UN Headquarters in New York and cheered him. They waved the Indian Flag and chanted slogans such as 'Jai Hind' and 'Modi, Modi'.

On the same day Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan also gave a speech at UNGA. Imran Khan gave a 50-minute speech. Each person is only allowed 15-minutes but he spoke for way too long. The entire speech was only about J&K. He said that both India and Pakistan have Nuclear Military powers. If India and pakistan go to war, it would be very dangerous and affect the whole world. An official of the Ministry of External Affairs Vidisha Maitri gave a very strong reply to PM Imran Khan and her reply was only 5-minutes.

She said that PM Khan’s speech spread hate. His speech was only about dividing India and Pakistan. She said that UNGA was a place for countries to talk and be united. But PM Khan has misused this opportunity. His warning of using Nuclear weapons against India shows that he is not a real leader. In his speech Prime Minister Imran Khan invited UN officials to Pakistan to see that there are no terrorist activities in Pakistan. Vidisha said that the world is waiting to see if what PM Khan said is true or not and they will not forget this. She said that while Pakistan is encouraging terrorism in its country India is focussing on development in J&K and Ladakh. Citizens of India do not need anyone to defend them. Especially those who are encouraging terrorism.

She asked PM Imran Khan some very strong questions.

  1. She said that the UN has listed 130 terrorists and 25 terrorists groups. She asked PM Khan to confirm whether or not they are present in pakistan.

  2. Will Pakistan accept that it is the only country in the world to give pensions to a terrorist.

  3. The Financial Action Task Force is a world organisation that works to stop money laundering. She asked if Pakistan will deny that they have broken 20 of the 27 important rules.

  4. Can Pakistan explain why the Pakistani Bank named ‘Habib Bank’ in New York was closed after it was fined millions of dollars for giving money to terrorists.

  5. Would PM Khan deny that once upon a time he openly defended Osama bin Laden?

Her speech lasted only five minutes but has made a massive impact.
