Who hasn’t fantasized about destination weddings?! But surely, your destination would be somewhere on Earth! What if I told you can stretch your dreams beyond Earth? See how
Destination weddings have now become very common. Weddings, surrounded by picturesque landscapes, have become a trend now. It not only lets the couple get some amazing photos but also becomes a great escape and enjoyment time for the families from the usual hustle-bustle. A company called Space Perspective is giving couples the opportunity to get married in space! Yes! No it is not a rocket! The company has created something called a ‘Neptune Balloon’.
It is a football stadium-sized space balloon that is carrying a capsule. The company says that till now only around 600 people have gone to space. Astronauts say that going to space and seeing earth is a very different experience. The company wants people to experience this and want couples to use this moment and start their married life. The capsule carried by the balloon takes you 1 lakh feet above the earth’s surface. And then you get to hang around in space and enjoy the view. The journey lasts 6 hours. Space Perspective will be about relaxation – it will move at only 19 km/hr even when going up and coming down. Explorers will have astonishing, 360-degree visibility through the largest windows ever flown to space. The capsule can accommodate eight passengers and one pilot in comfortable, reclining seats.
Those who book the entire capsule, can modify the seating and the areas as per their wish. The capsule could also accommodate a dining room table or even a wedding altar. The high-speed Wi-Fi connection will allow you to connect to your friends and family even when you’re up there! There is also a fully equipped restroom. That is all okay! But now, let's come to what everyone is wondering! What will be the price?
Let me tell you, it is Rs. 1 Crore! Seems a little less considering everything, right? Well! It is Rs. 1 Crore per person!!!! Space Perspective is led by husband and wife Taber MacCallum and Jane Poynter and based in Florida. Spaceflights for 2024 are sold out. 1,000 tickets have already been sold. but customers can still book their seat now for 2025. The launch will happen from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. It takes about two hours to get to the required height.
There are no rockets or flights involved. Just this giant balloon! This also means that the harmful emissions will be 0. 'While going up, you’ll be able to see as far as 450 miles in every direction, so you'll see the entire Florida peninsula, the Gulf of Mexico, etc. After reaching, you’ll see the total blackness of space and at the same time the shape of Earth. Throughout the flight, travelers will be given breakfast, can order drinks and sit back in their reclining seats and relax. There are 2 neptune balloons currently. These balloons would be able to see each other in space from 20 to 30 miles away, and would also be visible for people on the ground.
When it is time to return to the ground, the giant balloon will begin to deflate and the capsule will eventually splash down in a large body of water. The company says that the technology the spacecraft employs has already been "proven," having been employed for years by NASA personnel and other government organisations to "lift investigation telescopes and other heavy, responsive instruments."
