'Pakistan PM Would Have Died': Donald Trump's Big Claim
US President Donald Trump again claimed he stopped the India-Pakistan conflict and other global wars, while critics say he is using such statements to improve his image.
Donald Trump has once again claimed that he stopped the war between India and Pakistan during Operation Sindoor. However, India has clearly denied this claim earlier.
On 24 February 2026, while speaking at the State of the Union address in the US Congress, President Trump said that he had stopped eight wars around the world.
During his speech, he made two very strong statements about Pakistan. He said that Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif could have died if he had not intervened. He also claimed that Sharif told him nearly 35 million people might have died if he had not stepped in.
This is not the first time Trump has made such claims. In recent months, he has repeated similar statements many times, saying he prevented a nuclear war between India and Pakistan.
Many observers believe that Trump highlights such claims to strengthen his image as a global peace leader. He has often projected himself as someone deserving of the Nobel Peace Prize. However, India has not supported his statements, while Pakistan has openly praised him.
Recently, during a meeting of the Gaza Board of Peace, Trump again referred to the India-Pakistan issue. While speaking, he asked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who was sitting on stage, to stand up. Sharif stood briefly as Trump addressed him. Some experts criticised the moment, calling it embarrassing for Pakistan.
At another event, Sharif praised Trump, calling him “a man of peace” and saying he is the leader the world needs most right now. Pakistan had even nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize last year.
Meanwhile, Trump is facing criticism at home. Reports say his approval rating has dropped significantly. Many Americans are unhappy due to rising inflation and the impact of his tariff policies.
During elections, Trump had promised to quickly stop the war between Russia and Ukraine, but the conflict continues. The US is also spending large amounts of money on military aid to Ukraine, which has led to public anger.
Trump has also claimed that he reduced tensions between Israel and Hamas, Israel and Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia, and Cambodia and Thailand.
Political experts say that by repeating such international peace claims, Trump may be trying to improve his global image at a time when he is facing pressure within the United States.
