One Killed in Jammu Bus Explosion

On 7 March at 11.50 am a bus exploded at the main inter-state bus stand in Jammu.32 people were injured in the blast and a 17 year old boy from Haridwar lost his life. CCTV camera footage show a suspect wearing a red jacket and a backpack, running away from the spot. Within hours the police arrested him. His name is Arhan from Kulgam district in J&K.

During questioning, his admitted he was responsible for the blast. He said that he threw a grenade under the bus, which caused the bus to explode. Police say he is part of the terrorist group Hizbul Mujahideen. According to the police Hizbul Mujahideen’s commander Farooq Ahmad Bhat had ordered the boy to carry out the attack.This is the third time this terrorist group has carried out such a blast.

The Governor of J&K has announced Rs 20,000 compensation for each of the injured victims. He also said the family of the victim who died will receive Rs 5,00,000. A Political party named Jammu Muslim Front has told the people of Jammu told people to be united and fight the terrorists.
