Omicron Positive Man Runs Away from Bengaluru to Dubai

An Omicron positive patient somehow managed to escape from India! For all the details .

Now India has a total of 21 Omicron cases in India. The cases have been reported in Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Delhi, Kerala, Karnataka, and Gujarat. While scientists across the world are still awaiting more information on the new COVID variant Omicron, a top health expert has warned that India should be prepared to fight a possible "third wave" which may be caused due to the Omicron's high transmissibility but possibly low fatality. Most of those who tested positive either recently arrived from African countries or were in contact with such people. However Karnataka Health Department officials are having a hard time.

The Karnataka State Department said that the first person who tested positive for Omicron on 21 November was a 66 year old man who had arrived in Bengaluru from South Africa. However this man who was self isolated at a hotel,  "escaped" after taking a Covid negative certificate from a private lab. He took a flight and went to Dubai. Not only this, as per rules all passengers returning to Karnataka from South Africa, have to be tested at the airport. They can not leave their results out. However, 10 passengers ran away from the airport. They have switched off their phones and can’t be traced. The Health Ministry has said they are trying to locate the passengers.
