Old Pair of Jeans Sold for 63 Lakh Rupees

In an auction held in New Mexico on 1st October, a man paid approximately 63 Lakh rupees for a pair of Levi's jeans from the 1880s.

Imagine buying a pair of jeans at the cost of a lavish bungalow? Sounds weird, right? But what if we say this has happened in real life? In an auction held in New Mexico on 1st October, a man paid $76,000, approximately 63 Lakh rupees for a pair of Levi's jeans from the 1880s. Wall Street Journal reported that the buyer of the used jeans was Kyle Haupert, a 23-year-old vintage clothing dealer from San Diego, California. This has made it one of the priciest ever sold.

Haupert told the Wall Street Journal that he was still surprised at himself for even purchasing them. The rare pair of expensive jeans dates back to a time before airplanes, traffic lights, and radios were discovered. A denim archaeologist, Michael Harris, told the Wall Street Journal that the pair of jeans were found several years ago in an abandoned tunnel somewhere in the western part of America. On the Instagram account for his store, Haupert posted photos of the auction and the treasured pair of jeans. He captioned the photo as, "the $76,000 Jeans, 1880s Levi's One Pocket Buckle Back Jeans. One of the oldest known pairs of Levi's to exist. These speak for themselves. Thank you to everyone who's been supporting me throughout the years. I am very blessed to be able to own these." However, soon after the news of these expensive pairs of jeans went on air, it got viral in no time. Where a few people are actually amazed to see these old pairs of jeans, the others are seemingly shocked to know its price. What do you think about this super expensive pair of jeans by levis?
