NCB Arrests 3 For Selling Cakes Laced with Drugs

An Narcotics Control Bureau  (NCB) official said that the agency has found a new trend among youngsters, in which they consume marijunana through brownies & cakes. When marijuana is consumed through food products like cakes, brownies, etc its effect lasts for a longer time. When it is smoked it does not last for a long time. The NCB ON 12th June night raided a bakery at Orlem in Malad East that was allegedly making cakes laced with marijuana. The police seized 830 grams of edible weed pot brownie and 60 grams of marijuana. Three persons, including one woman, were arrested during the raid. A  couple was running the bakery. The NCB questioned the couple and got information about their marijuana supplier. Based on the information the main supplier Jagat Chaurasia was arrested in Bandra on 13th June. The official claimed that this was the first case in India in which edible weed was used for baking cakes.
