You might have heard about a lot of murders, but can you imagine sons killing their own mother. A 42-year-old woman named Nirmala Thakur from Wadala, Mumbai was allegedly killed by her two sons and a woman on 4th June 2022. According to the police, Nirmala Thakur was staying in Panchsheel Nagar at Wadala area along with her husband, Vijay and two sons - Akshay (25) and a younger son who is 15-years-old. The sons said that the mother practiced black magic and she was not allowing her elder son, Akshay to get married to his girlfriend, Komal. The neighbours also said that Akshay always fought with his mother, as he wanted to marry Komal and his mother was against it. The sons then made a plan to kill the mother. On 3rd June evening they told the family that they were going for a picnic and left with a bag.  However they did not go for any picnic but were in the vicinity of the house. Nirmala’s husband Vijay was on night duty so he too left the house.

The trio Akshay, his younger brother and Komal) came home when Vijay went on night duty. During an argument, the younger son and Komal grabbed Nirmala, when Akshay attacked her with a sickle. After the incident, they fled to Kalyan. On 4th June at 6am when he returned home, he saw Nirmala dead in a pool of blood. He then informed the police and and then called his elder son to inform about the murder. Initially an FIR was filed against an unknown person who allegedly killed Nirmala by attacking on her head with a sharp object between 1am to 5am on 4th June. During the investigation, police saw that there was no forced entry and no signs of burglary, hence, they became sure that it was an inside job. Satish Pawar of the Wadala police station said, “We then questioned both the sons and Komal separately. All their statements were contradictory. Later, they confessed that they killed her.”  The accused have been arrested under the charge of murder and further investigations are on.
