Mumbai-Ahmedabad’s Expensive Train Tickets

The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) is making India's first bullet train, which will run between Ahmedabad and Mumbai. Achal Khare, Managing Director of NHSRCL said that the cost of a ticket for the bullet train from Mumbai to Ahmedabad will be Rs 3,000.Compared to this, a flight ticket booked in advance costs Rs 1,500. It is half the price. The bullet train will have 12 stations across the 508 km stretch between Ahmedabad and Mumbai. The train is expected to complete this journey in less than 3 hours.He also said that 1,380 hectare of land is required for the project. This includes private, government, forest, and railway land.
45% land has already been acquired. The project has a deadline of 2023 and he is very confident that the work will be completed by then. The project also has an undersea tunnel through which the bullet train will pass. Work on it will start from March or April 2020.
