MLA Plans To Kill Rape Survivor
In a gross abuse of power, an MLA raped a girl and is now strong arming the family into withdrawing their complaint. The corrupt MLA is said to have been the mastermind behind the girl’s car accident.
On 4th June 2017, in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh a 17-year-old girl was raped. The girl had said that Kuldeep Singh Sengar, a BJP MLA from Uttar Pradesh had raped her. The family demanded justice and wanted the MLA to be arrested. The MLA however tried his best to scare the family and force them to take their complaint back. Her father was wrongfully arrested on 8th APril 2018 for illegally possessing a gun. It was later revealed that Sengar, his brother, three policemen and five other people framed the girl’s father. However the girl’s father died in the jail. This was a clear manipulation of power.
The girl’s uncle was also convicted for murder in a case filed by the MLA’s mother. The girl even tried to burn herself outside the UP CM’s house to demand justice. After this the CBI took over the case and arrested the MLA but the trails in court have not started yet. On Sunday, the girl, along with her aunt, her aunt's sister, and her lawyer was going to Raebareli district jail to visit her uncle when a truck rammed into their vehicle. The license plates of the truck was smeared in black paint. Her two aunts passed away, the survivor's lawyer suffered injuries but is safe. The girl’s condition is very critical. She has fractures on her ribs, collarbone, an arm, and a leg. She has been kept on the ventilator. The girl is the only witness in the rape case. The girl’s mother has said that the MLA had planned for the truck to hit the car. She said that even though the MLA is in jail he has phone inside and is harassing the family.
Two days after the car accident, an open letter was written by her family to the [Box 06 Supreme Court. In the rape survivor's mother said that they were being constantly threatened by the MLA. The girl was given high security by the Up police, but on the day of the accident her security was not with her.
Due to increasing pressure the Police has now filed a case of muder against the MLA. Everyone in India shocked by this abuse of power.
