Mizoram Volleyball Player Breastfeeds in Public

Earlier, when women would breastfeed in public, many people in the society would object and say it is vulgar. That mothers must not breastfeed their child in public they must cover themselves and feed their child indoors. However now things have changed a lot. For example, the Taj Mahal has come up with special breastfeeding rooms for women and Uttar Pradesh bus stations will have breastfeeding cubicles, too. All over the world as well, many women are breastfeeding in public. Many women say that breastfeeding is very natural. If a woman is outside with her child and the child becomes hungry, feeding the child is priority. There is nothing vulgar in that. A photo of a volleyball player from Mizoram breastfeeding her baby during a volleyball match has gone viral on the internet. 

In the photo, Lalventluangi a volleyball player is breastfeeding her 7-month-old baby during the match’s half time. People all over the internet have praised her being able to balance her work and her baby. Mizoram Sports Minister Robert Romawia Royte also tweeted the image, announcing that he will award Lalventluangi Rs 10,000 as a token of his appreciation. This is not the first time a woman has been seen breastfeeding while working. Previously, the swimsuit model Mara Martin walked the ramp while breastfeeding her baby. Australian MP Larissa Waters was the first woman to breastfeed her baby in the Australian Parliament. These women are helping to break the stigma attached the breastfeeding in public and proving the women can balance their work and family.
