Masked Robbers Flee with Rs 38 Lakh from ATM

Masked robbers assault guard and flee with Rs 38 lakh.

At 4.45pm a van belonging to a company called OM Logistics, arrived outside the Axis Bank ATM in Nalasopara (E) in Mumbai. This van was carrying cash to which was to be deposited in the ATM.  There were two men inside the van.

Two masked robbers assaulted the men and put a gun to one of the man’s head. The robbers took a bag containing cash of Rs 38 Lakh and ran away. The robbers ran away in a white Wagon R which was driven by a third man

The car did not have a number plate. CCTV footage showed the car was heading towards the Mumbai-Ahmedabad national highway. There were nakabandis and all toll nakas on the Mumbai and Ahmedabad road were put on high alert.

The police said that in such cases, robbers usually move the cash from one car to another. They even said that someone from Om Logistics, the company that helped transport the cash,  might have helped the robbers steal the money.

In August 2013, six armed men had stolen two boxes containing Rs 3.5 crore from the Axis bank in Nalasopara (W).
