Manmohan Singh Admitted to AIIMS Hospital

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was admitted to Delhi's AIIMS over chest problems

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was admitted to Delhi's AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) on Sunday night (10th May) over chest problems. He was taken to the cardio-thoracic ward (means treatment of organs inside chest.Like heart and lungs) of the hospital at 8.45 pm and is under observation by doctors. He is not in the ICU.

He is being treated by Dr. Nitish Naik, a professor of cardiology. The former Prime Minister suffered a fall in March during the coronavirus outbreak. At the time his doctors had advised complete bed rest. Manmohan Singh has undergone two heart-bypass surgeries - one in 1990 and another in 2009. He also has diabetes.

Manmohan Singh is 87-year-old and is a two-time Prime Minister. He is currently an MP as well.
