Man Cancels Food Delivered By Muslim

A man from Madhya Pradesh recently cancelled an ordered as the delivery agent was a Muslim. His reasoning behind the same went viral on Twitter with the Company refusing to bow to hate and bigots.

On 30th July 2019, Amit Shukla a man from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh cancelled his food order on Zomato when he learnt it was being delivered by a Muslim. Screenshots of Amit's conversation with Zomato Customer has gone viral as well. In the chat he asked the Customer Care Agent to chnage the delivery boy as he was Muslim and he can not accept food from Muslim as it was the month of Shravan. He then cancelled his order. He then wrote a post on Twitter and said that, "Just cancelled an order on @ZomatoIN they allocated a non hindu rider for my food they said they can't change rider and can't refund on cancellation I said you can't force me to take a delivery I don't want don't refund just cancel."

Zomato then responded to the Tweet said that Food has no religion because food is religion. Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal supported the Tweet  and posted a strong message on Twitter. He said that, "We are proud of India as it has different customers and partners. Zomato has strong values and beliefs and we will follow those. We are not sorry to lose any business that comes in the way of our values.” Zomato's response was widely praised on social media for "rejecting bigotry and hate". Everybody supported Zomato and were shocked at the man’s behaviour.
