Lucknow Man Orders iPhone; Kills Delivery Boy to Avoid Payment

A delivery agent in Lucknow was killed by a customer to avoid paying for an iPhone ordered online.

In a shocking incident, a man from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, killed a delivery agent to avoid paying for an iPhone he ordered online.

Gajanan, the accused, had placed an order for an Apple iPhone worth ?1.5 lakh on Flipkart using the Cash on Delivery option. On 23rd September 2024, 30-year-old delivery agent Bharat Prajapati Sahu, who lived in the Nishatganj area of Lucknow, went to deliver the iPhone to Gajanan’s house.

Instead of paying for the phone, Gajanan and his accomplice, Akash, strangled Sahu to death. They then put his body in a gunny sack and dumped it into the Indira Canal.

When Sahu didn’t return home for two days, his family became worried and filed a missing person complaint at the Chinhat police station on 25th September 2024.

The police checked Sahu’s phone records and traced his last location. They found Gajanan's phone number in the records and contacted his friend Akash. During questioning, Akash confessed to the crime and revealed that he helped Gajanan kill the delivery agent.

Both Gajanan and Akash have been arrested. The police and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are now searching the canal to recover Sahu’s body.

Sahu had been working as a delivery agent for eight years. His brother Prem is demanding strict punishment for the accused and justice for his brother’s death.

Police are continuing their investigation, reviewing CCTV footage of the areas where Sahu had made deliveries.
