Kejriwal Denies To Make Kashmir Files tax Free

Where Kashmir Files is gaining support all across the world and several states across India have made it tax free, Kejriwal on Thursday denied BJP’s plea to make the film tax free in Delhi- Watch Full

Vivek Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files released on March 11, 2022, and within just two weeks, the film has managed to enter the Rs 200 crore club. It has received an overwhelming response from the audience, critics and political personalities. As we had told you in our previous news, the movie was made tax free in various states. Recently, the BJP even urged to make the film tax-free in Delhi. Now, Arvind Kejriwal, CM of Delhi, has reacted to this demand and outraged the BJP on the same. Kejriwal gave a speech in the Delhi Assembly yesterday on 25th March. Kejriwal said that if BJP wants to make The Kashmir Files tax-free, they should just ask the director Vivek Agnihotri to upload it on YouTube. He claimed that once it's on YouTube, everyone can watch it in a day and it will be free of cost. His statement was followed by laughter and thumping of desks by assembly members. The reaction was pretty normal since AAP has the majority in Delhi.

Kejriwal also targeted Prime Minister Modi, saying that even after ruling the country for eight years he has to take the help of the movie for political support. He said, ‘I have a question for all BJP workers. Why did you join politics? To stick posters of a Bollywood film? I will not make the film tax-free.’ This decision of Kejriwal not allowing “The Kashmir Files” to become tax-free comes in as a big surprise as the Kejriwal led AAP government earlier have already made several films like “83”, Nil Batte Sannata & Saand Ki Aankh tax-free in Delhi.

People were very angry at Kejriwal. Many asked him,  “Why did you not ask those movies to be uploaded on youtube instead of relieving them from taxes? Why the double standard?” Many BJP leaders said that political parties like AAP are not supporting the movie because they do not want the truth of what happened to Kashmiri Pandits to spread in India. Many people are saying the same. Anyway, have you watched “The Kashmir Files” yet? If yes then what do you think about the film and Kejriwal's decision of not making it tax-free?
