Keep Children with Conjunctivitis at Home
Conjunctivitis cases surge in various parts of India, particularly among children, due to rainy and humid conditions during the monsoon season.
A sudden spike in cases of conjunctivitis, also known as the 'pink eye' disease, in several parts of India has caused distress among many people. Recently, cities like Delhi, Vadodara, Kolkata, and the northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh have seen an increase in conjunctivitis cases, particularly among children. The surge in cases comes as several parts of the country, including Delhi and neighbouring states, witnessed significant rainfall since the beginning of the monsoon. Meanwhile, in response to an outbreak of Conjunctivitis in the Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh, authorities have taken precautionary measures by ordering the temporary closure of schools. The move aims to curb the spread of the disease in the region. Over the past few weeks, the number of conjunctivitis cases in Bhopal has also increased. This is why many schools have asked parents not to send their infected children to schools. In Pune's Alandi, as many as 2,300 conjunctivitis cases have been reported in five days. Due to incessant rain, humid conditions and waterlogging - the ideal conditions for the spread of virus and bacteria, the cases of this common eye infection are on rise.
