Joe Biden Becomes 46th President of USA

USA’s Democratic Party candidate and former vice president Joe Biden defeated Current President Donald Trump and has become the 46th President of the United States.

USA’s Democratic Party candidate and former vice president Joe Biden defeated Republican Party’s nominee President Donald Trump and has become the 46th President of the United States. To win the Presidential elections in the USA, 270 electoral votes are needed to win. Joe Biden won 290 electoral votes. Kamala Harris will be America’s first Black-Indian woman to become the Vice President.

Election was held on 3rd November 2020, However voters were urged to vote early this time through mail-in ballots, to avoid queues amid the coronavirus pandemic. More than 101 million votes were cast and recorded even before Election Day. But counting of mail ballots was more laborious and that delayed the result. Biden in his first statement after he won said that he was honoured by the trust American people and that he will be a “President for all Americans — whether they voted for him or not.”

However, Trump has refused to accept the defeat. He said that the election is far from over. Trump has stressed that the votes were counted illegally and there is a huge fraud involved in counting the mail in votes. He said he will continue the fight till the votes are counted honestly. Meanwhile, India’s President, Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on being elected the President and the Vice President of the USA.
