India Secures Gold at ISSF World Cup

India wins two Gold medals at Shooting World Cup, with one shooter breaking two world records.

At the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup held in Munich, Germany on May 27th 2019, two Indians won Gold medals.  One in women’s 25m pistol which was won by Rahi Sarnobat and the other by 17-year old named Saurabh Chaudhary in the 10m Air Pistol.

This victory granted India an extra quota spot at the Summer Olympics being held in Tokyo next year.  This brings the total number of quotas for the Indian shooters to six. This was Saurabh’s second gold medal this year at the ISSF World Cup.  He broke two world records that were previously held by him.

Manu Bhaker showed a great start in the 25m pistol final but due to problems with her gun she was not able to finish the round and was eliminated. She was on track to win a Gold medal and securing a quota spot for the Tokyo Olympics. This left her in tears.
