The two cricketers, on a reality interview show, Koffee with Karan, made sexist remarks, and have faced the backlash. Now they must face the punishment.

In early January, 2019, the cricketers Hardik Pandya, and KL Rahul, were invited to a reality show, Koffee with Karan. The host Karan Johar asked them various questions, some of which were offensive.

The cricketers too, especially Hardik Pandya, made many comments which majority of the people found offensive. They were accused of making statements which were sexist, racist, and misogynist.

This television show was so offensive, that it had to be taken off the online streaming website Hotstar.

Now, the cricketers have to face the music for their actions.

D K Jain is the representative of the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India).

The BCCI put up an official order on their website, in which they wrote that the cricketers have already gotten a suspension, and have apologised for their actions, and that no further action would be taken against them.

He directed them to pay a fine of Rs 20 lakh each, that included a payment of Rs 1 lakh each to each of the most deserving widows of ten constables in the paramilitary forces who have lost their lives while on duty, through 'Bharat Ke Veer App".

He also asked them to deposit Rs 10 lakh each in the fund created by the Cricket Association for the blind.

All payments were to be made within four weeks from the date of the order, that is April 19, 2019.
