Gujarat: Dead Man Returns Home After Family Cremates His Body
A man in Gujarat was mistakenly declared dead and cremated, only to return home alive days later, sparking an investigation.
A family in Gujarat is in shock after their missing relative, who was thought to be dead, returned home alive just days after his funeral. The unbelievable turn of events has left everyone in the family, as well as the Gujarat Police, stunned and searching for answers.
The story begins on 27th October 2024 when 43-year-old Brijesh Suthar, also known as Pintu, went missing after facing heavy losses in the stock market and harassment from a moneylender. After not hearing from him for two days, Pintu’s family became worried and filed a missing person report with the local police.
On 10th November 2024, Gujarat Police informed Pintu’s family that they had found a swollen and mutilated body in the Sabarmati River. With no identity documents on the body, the police asked the family to identify it. Pintu’s relatives went to the morgue, and after seeing the body, they confirmed it was Pintu’s.
Devastated, the family took the body back to their hometown in Vijapur, Mehsana, for cremation and rituals. They held the prayer meet, or "besna," on 14th November 2024, believing that Pintu had tragically passed away.
However, the next day, 15th November 2024, Pintu shocked everyone by walking back into his home, fully alive. His return left his family, friends, and neighbours speechless.
The confusion has now extended to the Gujarat Police, who are trying to solve the mystery of the dead body that was mistakenly identified as Pintu’s. Pintu’s mother, Ansuya Suthar, explained that the body they had seen was swollen, and she believes the mistake happened when her son-in-law and the police officers identified the body. She said, “...the body looked like my son's... It is a mistake of my son-in-law (who went for identification) and the policemen in identifying the dead body.”
Despite repeated attempts, local news channels have been unable to contact Pintu for his statement on the matter.
Now, the Gujarat Police have launched an investigation to determine whose body was cremated and how such a mix-up could have occurred. The authorities are trying to find out if the body was misidentified due to its swollen state, or if there is a deeper conspiracy behind this strange incident.
This bizarre case has left many wondering: How could Pintu’s family and the police mistakenly identify a stranger’s body as that of Pintu? Was it just an unfortunate error, or is there something more to the story?
