In northern Thailand, there is Elephant Nature Park. If in Thailand an elephant is hurt or abused it is rescued and kept in this center. They are not kept in the cage but kept in a huge open area and are always protected.

There is one very interesting fact about elephants. When the male and female elephants give birth to a baby elephant, they take care of the baby elephant, but they also select another elephant who is a nanny to the baby. Elephant nannies in each family have special roles. They keep an eye on them, play with them, protect them and train and discipline them. Recently, an adorable video is going viral on social media about a nanny elephant .

The video was posted on Instagram by Lek Chailert, the founder of Elephant Nature Park and the Save Elephant Foundation. In the video, a female elephant called Chana can be seen helping her nanny elephant called Ploy Thong who is both eyes blind. Chana can be seen slowly bringing Ploy Thong closer till they reach the food where another elephant was munching on some fruits. The heartwarming video has received more than 12,000 views so far. Many Instagram users were in awe of the way the elephants cared for each other calling them beautiful and sweet.

In the Instagram post, Lek Chailert wrote: “Look how elephants care for each other. It is so surprising. Every day I discover the beautiful side of the elephant. Even though they are such huge animals, they are so caring. It is a lesson for us all !” We humans should learn from the elephants to be more helpful and supportive towards the ones who need help.
