Dubai To India Underwater Train to Start Soon
The UAE plans to build a unique underwater train connecting Dubai and Mumbai, offering passengers a scenic sea-view experience, potentially boosting trade and the economy.
For so many years, the UAE has been the only go-to place for technology, construction and infrastructure. Their recent biggest and the most talked about project is the so-called LINE, a mega city that extends horizontally. ISH News had released a video about it. You can watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4ju_7T4hds
Now they are planning something very unique. Today, we are equipped with all sorts of travel. Air, water, land and rails! With so many options for transport, you would think we have created all that can be invented, but you are wrong. Imagine a train that’s way down in the deep blue sea, with a view of marine life as you travel at high speeds to your destination. This is exactly what the UAE has planned. The underwater train has been proposed as a new option to travel between Dubai, UAE and Mumbai, India! However this plan will definitely scare off people who suffer from claustrophobia or a fear of deep water. It will be a 1,900 km journey. Railway wouldn’t only be used to transport people but also goods and commodities, including water and oil. This will boost trade and help with import and export. It will be fruitful for the economy. But I know what you might be thinking, transporting water underwater? How?! It can be done!
The Dubai to Mumbai underwater train project was first mentioned in 2018 as a hypothetical idea, but now it’s quickly becoming a reality. It will obviously cost a lot! However the cost has not been announced yet. As of now, the United Arab Emirates’ National Advisor Bureau is working on a blueprint for the railway and for the type of train needed for such a journey, it hopes to decrease the gap between the two cities and provide something innovative to the region. Even though it’s an amazing idea, it won’t be the first underwater train. The world’s first underwater train is the Channel Tunnel that connects the UK to France and has been functional since 1994. But the Dubai-Mumbai train would surely be different and one of its kind as it would be a visual experience with see-through windows that allows passengers to view the sea, the marine life, etc. Dubai is obviously taking a scenic route, which will be the ultimate selling point and may also become a bucket list experience when it eventually begins. We know UAE has done the craziest things once it sets its mind!
