Drunk Parents’ Bike Skids 700 Metres After 4-Month-Old Baby Falls On Road: Parents Don’t Realise

A 4-month-old baby was rescued by police after allegedly falling from his intoxicated parents' motorcycle, with timely medical care saving the child's life.

A 4-month-old baby narrowly escaped death after allegedly slipping from his parents' motorcycle while they were riding under the influence of alcohol. The incident took place on the night of 24 June 2026 near the Bhisi Bypass in Maharashtra.

According to police, Phoolchand Raut and Meera Raut were travelling from Chimur to Nandla village with their 2½-year-old child and 4-month-old baby. During the journey, the infant allegedly slipped from their hands and fell onto the road. Police say the couple, who were intoxicated, did not realise the baby had fallen and continued riding.

About 700 metres later, their motorcycle skidded, throwing both parents onto the roadside. Even then, they allegedly remained unaware that the baby had been left behind.

Passers-by spotted the infant lying on the road and alerted the Bhisi Police, who rushed to the scene. Officers immediately took the baby to the Bhisi Primary Health Centre, where doctors provided emergency treatment. The baby was later declared stable, with doctors saying the child's life was saved because medical care was provided without delay.

The parents were also hospitalised after the accident.

The incident has sparked concerns about drunk driving and child safety, while locals have praised the Bhisi Police for their swift action, which prevented a major tragedy.

Police are continuing their investigation, and no legal action has been announced so far.
