Deaf Minor Gang-raped in Rajasthan

In a shocking incident a 17 year old deaf girl was abducted and gang raped by 5 persons in Rajasthan’s Dausa on 4th August.

In a shocking incident a 17 year old deaf girl was abducted and gang raped by 5 persons in Rajasthan’s Dausa on 4th August. The incident took place at Dausa's Lalsot Police Station area. The girl’s mother had gone out of the village and returned on 6th August, till then the girl had not told anyone about the incident out of trauma. When the mother returned she found something wrong. But only on Saturday 8th August the girl explained to her mother through sign language about the incident, after which the mother lodged the complaint. A police official from Dausa informed the media that the police had received a tip and started searching for the accused before the complaint was registered by the family of the victim. Three of the five accused have been detained. 

Senior police officers including Jaipur Inspector General of Police (IGP) S Sengathir reached Dausa to check the situation. He said, “The girl was visiting a local store in the village when the accused abducted her in their vehicle on the pretext of taking her to a temple and instead took her to an isolated place. After that each of them took turns to rape. The IG added that getting any information from the girl was difficult but she still gave the names of the accused as they all were from the same village. 3 people out of the 5 have been arrested.” An FIR has been filed and case of gang rape has been registered under section 376D of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the POCSO Act. Officials said that a medical examination was done and doctors claimed she did not suffer any major injuries. The woman and her daughter live in Rajasthan and her husband lives in Dubai, UAE
