Deaf Double Money Scam: Mihir Applies For Bail in High Court

Out of the 6 accused, Mihir Gokhale in the Deaf double money scheme has applied for bail in the High Court through Adv Prateek Rajopadhyay.However, as the investigating officer in this case has not been coming to the court, the hearing has been stalled. Therefore, the Bombay High Court on 27th June 2023 ordered the Pune Police Commissioner to submit an affidavit explaining the absence of the investigating office. The affidavit should be submitted within a week. During the 27th June hearing, Assistant Public Prosecutor Veera Shinde told the court that on 21st June, there was a conversation with the investigating officer regarding appearing in the court. Despite the communication, the investigating officer did not come to the court on the 21st June and even on 27th June. Therefore, the court gave order to the Pune Police Commissioner to submit an affidavit. The next hearing of this case will be held on 4th July 2023.

The Economic Offences Wing of the Pune police had arrested 6 Deaf accused in the case of defrauding deaf persons by pretending to be investors and filed a charge sheet in the court. An amount of Rs.1 crore was seized from  and it has been deposited in the court. The names of the accused in this case are Abhijhar Ghodandiwala, Pradeep Kolte, Suyog Mehta, Chanchal Mehta, Dhananjay Jagtap, Mihir Santosh Gokhale. All the accused are currently in judicial custody in Yerawada Jail. These six accused had established companies named Platinum Investment and Finance Global Solutions and Suyo Abhi Enterprises. Deaf people were lured with double returns if they invested in this company. After the fraud came to light, the Economic Offences Wing took action and registered a case in the Shivajinagar Police Station.
