Daughter Killed Her Father By Poisoning his Milkshake: Was it For Love or Job?

Three years after a “natural” death, a police officer’s daughter and her partner were arrested for allegedly poisoning him over a forbidden relationship.

On 25 April 2023, in Chandrapur, police officer Jayant Ballawar collapsed and died after drinking a milkshake given by his daughter Arya. His death was deemed natural—no post-mortem, no suspicion.

Three years later, the truth surfaced.

Arya, who had since joined the police, had been in a strained relationship with Ashish Shedmake—one her father strongly opposed. On 23 March 2026, after their own marriage turned turbulent, Ashish went to the police and confessed: Jayant’s death was planned murder.

Driven by opposition to their relationship, Arya allegedly conspired with Ashish, paid her cousin Chaitanya ?5,000 to procure poison, and laced the milkshake. A fourth person supplied the poison.

The case was reopened. Forensic analysis confirmed poisoning.

All four accused have now been arrested, and the investigation continues—turning a “natural death” into a chilling case of betrayal and delayed justice.
