COVID Vaccination for 12-14yrs Starts From 16 March 2022

Summary The Central government will start the Covid vaccination for the 12-14 year age group from 16 March 2020.

India started vaccinating the 15-18 year age group from January 3. Until now, children were given Bharat Biotech's Covaxin shots. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health,  around 3.5 crore children between 15 and 18 years of age group have received the second dose. Now Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya Tweeted on 14 March and said, ‘The Center has decided to start COVID-19 vaccination for the 12-14 age groups from March 16. The decision was taken after discussing it with various scientific organizations. The vaccine to be administered would be Corbevax, manufactured by Biological E. Limited, Hyderabad. The vaccine will be given by injection on the arm and had 2 doses scheduled 28 days apart. The expected cost of the vaccine is ?145 excluding taxes. Earlier people above 60 with comorbidities were being given the 3rd dose of the vaccine. Now All people above the age of 60 will be given the 3rd vaccine dose. I urge the families of children and people in the age group of 60+ that they must get the vaccine.’ Meanwhile, India reported 2,503 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, making it the lowest in 680 days so far. We hope everyone continues to follow safety protocols so that the COVID pandemic finally ends.
