India is currently going through the second wave of the coronavirus infections. Rajasthan imposed many restrictions to control the rising cases. The Rajasthan government has announced a 15-day lockdown that will remain till May 3. Frontline workers like healthcare staff and police officials are doing everything they can to make sure people are following the rules. While the staff are overwhelmed, they are still going above and beyond to help people, sometimes at the sacrifice of their own time and energy. One example of this is a police constable in Rajasthan, who was unable to get leave due to the pandemic so she held her ‘Haldi’ ceremony at the police station itself. Some of her colleagues are seen in uniforms and masks, singing traditional Rajasthani songs and putting turmeric paste on the constable. A few of the constable’s family members were also present. We salute all such frontline workers who are working hard and doing their duty to keep the people of India safe
