China: Apple Employees Jumps the Walls and Escape
After several coworkers were put in quarantine, workers who assemble Apple's iPhone 14 have left their workplace in northern China.
Although most of the parts used in Apple products are manufactured in America, their final assembly is done in various parts of Asia, including India & China. One such assembly outlet, which is also the biggest in China, has been brought into light after several videos of employees trying to escape from it started to go viral. The name of this assembly outlet is said to be Foxconn. This is one of the biggest facilities in China assembling goods for Apple, including its most recent iPhone 14 handsets, the Foxconn facility in Zhengzhou, Henan province, has space for up to 3,50,000 people. However, foxconn did not immediately respond to a request for comment by the local media. It is unknown how many employees work at the Zhengzhou factory now and how many have left.
Earlier there was news that 20,000 workers at the plant had COVID-19 infections, but some said these were rumours. This video of employees trying to escape emerged soon after several of their coworkers were put in quarantine as a result of a coronavirus outbreak. Workers who assemble Apple's iPhone 14 have left their workplace in northern China to escape COVID-19 limitations. Videos of people who appeared to be Foxconn employees jumping over the fences and moving down a road while carrying their belongings have been going viral on Chinese social media platforms. Some of the footage that reportedly showed employees fleeing the building couldn't all be confirmed. It wasn't apparent if the employees exiting the building were authorised to depart or if they had escaped. Food and beverages were left out for the Foxconn employees by volunteers from neighbouring villages. China is following strict Covid-19 regulations to comply with its zero covid policy and is locking down the areas which have even one affected case of the virus. What do you think about this?
