Celebrities Who Won & Lost in the Elections 2019

Many Celebrities ran for 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Some were winners, some were losers with a few newcomers winning seats in surprise victories.

Many celebrities contested for the 2019 Lok Sabha election who were running for Lok Sabha seats, some won and kept there seats from last elections while some lost seats.

There were some new candidates as well such as Sunny Deol who joined in April only won from Gurdaspur, Punjab by over 80,000 votes.

Another big winner was Hema Malini who beat her opponent by nearly three lakh votes. She was standing in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. In a tweet the Dream Girl wrote; “I thank all the wonderful Mathuravasis who have re-elected me as their MP.”

Former Cricketer now Politician Gautam Gambhir(BJP) had a huge win in the East Delhi Lok Sabha seat, winning by over 4.7 lakh votes.

Actress Kirron Kher won by a margin 40,000 votes from Chandigarh. This will be her second term as MP.

BJP Delhi President  East Manoj Tiwari defended his seat with a win of 3.66 lakh votes. He defeated Congress’s Sheila Dixit and AAP leader Dilip Pandey by over six lakh votes.  

Actor Ravi Kishan won his seat for Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh with a total of 60.5% votes over 2 lakh votes.

Urmila Matondkar from the Congress contested from Mumbai North, Maharashtra. She suffered a huge defeat of nearly 4.5 Lakh. In a Instagram video she thanked all her supporters and said in defeat she is still proud and a still a winner for all the people who voted for her.

Formal Bollywood star Shatrughan Sinha previously was with the BJP. Earlier this year he joined the Congress. He was contesting from Patna Sahib, Bihar where he out by 2.5 lakh votes.

Actress Moon Moon Sen who was contesting from Asansol, West Bengal. She lost by nearly two lakh votes and was in shock after the results saying, “I don't know why we are losing. You tell me why we are losing?”

BJP candidate Pragya Thakur who spent 9 years in jail after she was accused of the Malegaon blast in 2008, she joined the BJP on April 17th in the consistency of Bhopal which has been a BJP stronghold since 1989 after the victory she said; ” It will be a victory of righteousness over impiety”.
