Capgemini Daycare Horror: Whistleblower Arrested as Investigation Takes a New Turn
Bengaluru's Capgemini daycare abuse case took a shocking turn after the woman who exposed videos of toddlers being abused was herself arrested for allegedly participating in and staging some incidents
Videos showing the abuse of toddlers at a daycare centre inside Capgemini's Bengaluru campus recently went viral, shocking people across India. The videos showed children being slapped, frightened, locked in bathrooms, forced to sit inside the drum of a washing machine and sprayed with water from a toilet jet.
The videos were secretly recorded on 25 June 2026 by daycare worker Sujatha and later shared with the Child Helpline. Based on the complaint, Bengaluru Police registered an FIR against five daycare employees on 2 July.
Initially seen as the whistleblower, Sujatha was later arrested after police claimed she had also participated in some incidents and may have staged parts of the videos.
Another employee who knew about the recordings is also being questioned. Caregiver Vijayalakshmi has been arrested, while daycare manager Manjula remains absconding.
Following the incident, Capgemini shut down the daycare centre, which was operated by a third-party company called Little Scholars, and ended its association with the company. Capgemini also filed a police complaint, alleging physical and mental abuse of children as young as two years old.
Police say several questions remain unanswered and are continuing their investigation to determine the role of each accused. The court will decide responsibility after examining all the evidence.
