Brazilian Woman Arrested for Smuggling Cocaine
A 20 year old woman was caught by the Narcotics Control Bureau. The NCB officials seized 1.18 kg of cocaine from her which was worth 7 crore.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had received information that a woman would try to smuggle drugs on the plane. At the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus airport, the NCB officials caught 20 year old woman from Brazil during the security check. The NCB officials seized 1.18 kg of cocaine, was worth 7 crore.According to the NCB officials cocaine that was seized, was from Sao Paulo in Brazil.The woman was arrested under the Drug Prevention Act.
The NCB authorities are finding it very difficult to investigate the matter, as the woman does not know English. She was questioned with the help translators. The NCB say this a gang of international drug smugglers. Smuggling illegal drugs an lead to jail for upto 20 years and a penalty of Rs 2 lakh.
